Wouldn’t Buy AgainI would not purchase this unit again. The shelf was shrink-wrapped and when I opened it it had a lot of broken pieces of plastic in it, which did not appear to be from the shelves (as far as I could tell). The legs/posts do not fit well into the holes and when I assembled it, it had a “twist” to it. Also, the legs/posts are not very sturdy so I was afraid to use anything other than my hand to set them in.

Absolutely no directions for how to assemble this item. Should have had directions! After I figured out how to assemble the 3 sets that I bought the product was very sturdy. I put 2 of them together incorrectly, but fortunately it was only aesthetic issues that really didn’t affect function. The third one I put together perfectly. Directions really would have helped. Other than the lack of directions I really like the shelf units.

Not Reliable and Collapse FrequentlyWell I bought two sets of these for my garage. They look very sturdy, however they have collapsed on me several times. The pieces don’t insert cleanly – you have to get a hammer and bang them together, really hard. And they still collapse. I’ve never had a set like this that doesn’t assemble easily. And I’ve never had any of them collapse before. And they were expensive! If these break one more time I’m trashing them and going to Home Depot. I don’t recommend these unless you’re using them for clothes.

Terrible product / Dangerous productOne of the Hyper Tough shelves arrived broken to the point of being unusable (see photo), so I set it up using just 3 out of the 4 shelves. I put 2 storage boxes on each of the 3 shelves. I just weighed the boxes, and these storage boxes weighed between 20 and 24 pounds each. (The ad claims that these shelves can hold 70 pounds each.) One hour later, the top 2 shelves (of 3 shelves) collapsed from the weight of the boxes. I own 10 other sets of plastic storage shelves from other manufacturers and none of those have ever collapsed in the 15 to 25 years they’ve been in use in my basement.

BEWARE, IT’S NOT STURDY AT ALL!!!!Do not buy these shelves, it has fallen apart on me not once but three times. Each day I come home heartbroken to see all my items all over the floor (UNBELIEVABLE). This is the worst shelf set I’ve ever purchased and it’s a nice thick material, but the legs do not stay inside the holes. I’m one unhappy customer!!!
